Requires owners to have:
1. A Written Scheme of Examination prepared by a Competent Person.2. Examination and Testing carried out in accordance with that Written Scheme.
3. Test and Examination Certificates that can be produced on demand by the Health and Safety Executive.
- Compliance with the law became Mandatory on 29th May 2002.
- Failure to comply is a criminal offence with penalties including 3 months in prison and/or fines up to £5,000.
- Failure of an accumulator that has not been subject to a Written Scheme of Examination is likely to result in prosecution by the Health and Safety Executive.
